Then we are looking for you to join our team.The ideal candidate will have education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with major coursework in information technology management, computer science or another related field. In addition, they will have five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in technology hardware, software, and/or system design, development, integration, and support. Including one (1) year in a lead or supervisory capacity. Public sector experience desired but not required. As an Information Technology Supervisor, you will supervise a diverse and scalable team of IT professionals to meet the needs of the court. ABOUT THE POSITION Under general direction, plans, schedules, assigns, reviews, supervises, and participates in the work of staff providing information technology services within the Court Information Technology Department; supervises technical services and operations, systems administration, applications development and maintenance, computer systems operations and support, network design and maintenance, database analysis and administration, and network and application security as assigned; coordinates assigned activities with other Court departments and outside agencies; and performs related duties as assigned.SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISEDReceives general direction from assigned management personnel. Exercises direct supervision over professional and technical staff.CLASS CHARACTERISTICSThis is the full supervisory-level class in the Information Technology series that exercises independent judgment on diverse and specialized information technology services and programs, with accountability and ongoing decision-making responsibilities associated with the work. Incumbents are responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, reviewing, and evaluating the work of assigned staff; ensuring the efficient functioning of computer systems, networks, and software applications, and providing technical support to end-users; and are responsible for providing professional level support to management in a variety of areas. Performance of the work requires the use of independence, initiative, and discretion within established guidelines and scope of practice.

EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Illustrative Only)Management reserves the right to add, modify, change, or rescind the work assignments of different positions and to make reasonable accommodations so that qualified employees can perform the essential functions of the job.Plans, schedules, assigns, reviews, supervises and participates in the work of staff providing various information technology services, operations, and programs; trains staff in work procedures and safe work practices; evaluates employee performance, counsels employees, and effectively recommends initial disciplinary action; assists in selection and promotion.Participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, work plans, policies, and priorities for the division; recommends within division policy, appropriate service and staffing levels; recommends and administers policies and procedures.Participates in annual budget preparation; identifies and recommends future resource needs; prepares detailed cost estimates with appropriate justifications; monitors expenditures. Provides support and monitors activities of assigned Court Technology work unit; identifies opportunities for improving service delivery and procedures; provides recommendations concerning process changes; reviews with appropriate management staff; implements improvements.Plans, directs, and monitors the development and implementation of assigned technology projects; acts as team leader, project manager, and/or technical specialist for large, sensitive, broad based, and complex projects affecting many users, departments, and outside organizations; coordinates the activities of Court and contract personnel through all phases of information technology projects; plans, guides, and tracks information for technology projects ensuring effective capture of documentation associated with project deliverables and resources including staff and budget.Oversees the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and network infrastructure; collaborates with department leadership regarding infrastructure, system, and application needs and requirements; researches, implements, upgrades, and maintains networks, servers, computer hardware, software, and applications. Supervises systems security, including monitoring system logs regarding possible operational problems, security violations, and system performance issues; identifies and eliminates hardware and software security risks. Performs complex technical work in the assigned area of responsibility such as application development, infrastructure operations, database and system administration, and system security installation, upgrades, and maintenance; assists with debugging stored procedures and SQL inquiries.Assists in the preparation of request for proposals, contracts, and statement of work; develops specifications for purchases of computer related hardware and software, including capital or operational requests; creates and participates in procurement processes; evaluates responses of vendors or contractors; investigates and evaluates new applications and hardware/software upgrades.Serves as liaison for assigned functions with other court departments, divisions, and outside agencies; provides staff support to commissions, committees, and task forces, as required.Prepares reports and other written materials; supervises the establishment and maintenance of working and official division files; ensures the proper documentation of operations and activities; supports information technology disaster recovery efforts.Attends and participates in professional group meetings, local, and state committees; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of information technology and security.Answers questions and provides information to internal and external stakeholders; investigates and responds to complaints and inquiries from other departments and agencies.Observes, complies, and ensures staff observe and comply with all Court and mandated safety rules, regulations, and protocols.Performs related duties as required.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
PHYSICAL DEMANDSMust possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; to operate a motor vehicle and visit various Court sites; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. This is primarily a sedentary office classification although standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull drawers open and closed to retrieve and file information. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects up to 50 pounds.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONSEmployees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions, and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing divisional policies and procedures.
