What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ambassador position at San Carlos Healthcare Corporation?
The Ambassador welcomes and assists patients, their families and visitors entering the hospital; they will answer questions, provide information and direct people to the hospital location they need, thus creating an atmosphere in the hospital that is caring, yet efficient.
Essential Functions:

Greets visitors and patients upon arrival; ascertains patients’ and or visitors’ needs and directs them accordingly.

Provides assistance to patients and visitors by obtaining wheelchairs, or other services as needed.

Escorts patients who need help to their destination within the hospital.

Assists patients entering or exiting vehicles.

Maintains record/log of all patient visits, orders and receives charts to provide for efficient and timely service

Possess a patient and a friendly customer service attitude to represent the hospital to all who come to the facility.

Schedules transportation for patients as needed to ensure accessibility to referral appointment

Contacts Security, Environmental Services or Facilities Management for assistance, when needed.

Participates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality assurance programs/initiatives

Participates in a variety of department and hospital educational programs to maintain current skill and competency levels; identifies and discusses performance or training needs with Supervisor
MARGINAL/ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

May assist Patient Registration & Health Information Clerk as needed to ensure achievement of established collection goals
