The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting to fill two (2) vacancies for the position of Vice Principal, Juvenile Court and Community Schools (JCCS). The job of Vice Principal, Juvenile Court and Community Schools, is responsible in planning, organizing and providing instructional and administrative leadership and guidance to staff and students in one or more assigned schools, camps, or juvenile hall facilities; under the direction of the Principal, the Vice Principal implements instructional programs; serves as liaison with districts, the County Office, community agencies, parents and the public; coordinates activities and addresses issues, situations and/or problems that arise on campus or with enrolled students.

ABOUT JCCS:
SDCOE's Juvenile Court and Community Schools (JCCS) provide a fully accredited educational program for school-age youth who are either wards of the court or have been referred by social services, probation, or one of the 42 school districts in San Diego County. Services are provided to students who are incarcerated, pregnant or parenting, in foster care, expelled, chronically truant, in drug treatment centers and group homes for neglected or abused children, and experiencing homelessness.

Education and Experience:
Education: Master’s degree in education, educational administration, or related field from an accredited college or university, including coursework in instructional leadership and/or organizational change; and,
Experience: Three (3) years of increasingly responsible educational services experience in a school setting, with responsibility for coaching and evaluating teaching staff preferred.

Equivalency: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a master’s degree in education, educational administration, or related field from an accredited college or university, including coursework in instructional leadership and/or organizational change, and three (3) years of increasingly responsible educational services experience in a school setting, with responsibility for coaching and evaluating teaching staff preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, and Credentials:
- Valid CA Administrative Services (K-12) Credential
- Valid CA Teaching Credential
