Employees in this job classification assigned to a Rural Library location may be eligible for a 5% premium. ABOUT THE POSITION
Provide courteous, high quality customer service to members of the public by personally responding to information requests in person or by phone. This is the entry level class in the Library Technician series. Employees in this job classification perform para-professional library services and varied clerical tasks in a branch library or headquarters division.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Six (6) months of full-time paid or voluntary work experience in a public, academic or school, church or community library; completed course of study in library use and techniques; library use as a high school student; paid or volunteer work with public contact; or other related experience and / or training.
Note : A Library Technology certificate or an associate's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in Library Science is desirable.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
