Primary Purpose :
Plans and designs distribution systems with voltage levels typically 34.5K and below. Determines need, size, location and timing of system development to balance economic, environmental, social and regulatory constraints and reliability needs.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Supports the development of innovative solutions to improve the efficiency of electrical distribution systems.
- Ensures electrical distribution systems comply with applicable codes and regulations.
- Supports emergency response work as requested including immediate and extended restoration efforts driven by weather and other system failures.
- Ensures compliance with codes, standards, and design, operation, and maintenance requirements.
- Provides a detailed design review of internal or external technical documents.
- Performs field inspections for overhead and underground electric facilities on public and private utility systems.
- Performs various distribution calculations, including cable pulling, voltage drop, and pole loading calculations.
- Assists in the preparation of overhead and / or underground engineering calculations and analysis.
- Performs area wide voltage and power factor studies, recommending findings to distribution engineering and operations.
- Prepares and reviews reports on system performance and other operational metrics.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

The target for this position is an award of 15% of base salary and is based on individual and company performance for the plan year.
