San Diego Mission Bay Resort is a sprawling 357-room resort, boasting multiple dining options, a beautiful renovated pool, a kids pool, astonishing Bay views, fire pits and so much more. We are excited to welcome a new Sales & Marketing Coordinator to our Mission Bay Family.
The JOB:
The Sales & Marketing Coordinator is a highly motivated individual who is eager and ready to accept additional responsibilities when needed. This position supports our Sales Managers as well as the Director of Sales, and our Operations team and will be responsible for providing them with administrative support. This position will also support the Area Director of Marketing with our Social Media marketing. The ideal candidate has a friendly demeanor, the ability to learn new computer programs, and can multitask and complete projects in a timely manner. This person should demonstrate exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills. An enormous amount of growth opportunities are available to the individual who excels within this position.
Responsibilities:
Answer telephones and promptly respond to caller inquiries speaking in a clear and pleasant manner. Exercise decision making skills to direct caller's request. Accurately record messages for staff and distribute the written messages to the staff members in a timely manner.
• Act as a liaison between Sales Managers and clients in Sales Manager's absence. Take booking inquiry information via phone and email and prepare proper paperwork.
• Use various computer, word processing, and other software packages to enter data, produce contracts, correspondence, forms, training manuals, memorandums and other documents.
• Thorough understanding of social media and digital marketing channels
• Formulate timely and engaging content including original copy, optimized for platform use and intended audience
• Design engaging graphics and Instagram Stories using Canva or other graphic design software to enhance our brand presence and drive audience engagement across social media platforms.
• Approach all encounters with guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
• Assist Sales Managers and Operations team on projects including proposals, site visits, special events, reporting, and other job-related duties as assigned.
• Distribute documents to appropriate persons / departments to ensure prompt processing of time sensitive information by hotel and supplier staff.
• Possess and share knowledge of the San Diego Mission Bay Resort products including accommodation, meeting facilities, history, activities and local programming.
• Handle individual reservations for VIP clients. Ensure that all arrangements, including upgrades, are handled properly, coordinating with other departments through oral and written instruction.
• Participate in site inspections, familiarization tours, trade shows and functions within the hotel, as required, and in the absence of the Sales Manager
• Organize, file and retrieve documents in appropriate binders in order to maintain essential records used in the department operation.
• Actively seek opportunities to improve sales and operations related system and procedures.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

This is a great entry-level position for anyone who is interested in a career in hospitality, sales, marketing or operations. A qualified individual will possess the talent and experience to support the Group Sales efforts of our Resort. Previous Administrative Assistant and / or hotel experience is a plus, but not required. Superior level computer skills with Microsoft Office is required. Experience collaborating effectively with other departments and cross-functional teams; skilled in communication and teamwork.
