Community Programs Manager – The Old Globe

The Old Globe seeks a Community Programs Manager for a full-time position in its Arts Engagement department. The Community Programs Manager is responsible for overseeing assigned Arts Engagement programs specifically tailored to community engagement with older adults, and isolated or underserved communities. This position also provides logistical and operational support of the department’s programs and events.

The Community Programs Manager will manage and administer assigned AE programs including contracting, staffing, scheduling and producing projects; ensure that events are completed on-time and within budget; and plan future projects based upon program goals. Position will represent The Old Globe and Arts Engagement in the community; coordinate and schedule program activities while appropriately communicating with all internal and external parties; manage the staff and artists of assigned projects including hiring, onboarding, invoicing, scheduling, reviewing timecards, facilitating production meetings, and managing performance. Manager will plan, arrange, and attend project meetings; coordinate and communicate with other department and external partners to implement arts programming; plan and execute offsite events, classes and workshops; and develop and recruit docent and volunteers for programs as applicable.

A minimum of three years of related combined experience in arts, social services, teaching, and / or program coordination experience is required, with a minimum of 1 year of experience working in the arts, preferably with a theatre company. Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word required. Previous Teaching Artist experience a plus. Spanish-speaking, or multilingual is preferred but not required unless specified. Previous EDIA training, experience, ability is preferred but not required; commitment to working with diverse groups in terms of gender expression, race, sexual orientation, religion, ability, age, class, and immigrant status is essential. Successful candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; a passion for theatre, and a commitment to The Old Globe’s mission of making theatre accessible to all. Bilingual (English / Spanish) and / or fluency in multiple languages a plus. Familiarity with the San Diego community and its cultural landscape is also preferred. Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends; have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for occasional business use; must be able to pass applicable background check.

Salary range is $66,560 – $68,640. This position is full-time with benefits including 401(k).
