What are the responsibilities and job description for the Donor Administration Assistant position at San Diego Rescue Mission?
The Donor Engagement Assistant (DEA) reports to the Donor Engagement & Events Manager and serves on the Development Team by providing excellent customer service and administrative duties for our Donor Engagement plan. They support the Donor Engagement & Events Manager (DEEM) to organize and execute communication strategies that cultivate relationships and increase partner engagement. This position is primarily responsible for supporting the growth and development of donors by providing consistent communication and strategic cultivation of the mid-level donor program. The DEA will play a key role in stewarding the Mission's mid-level donor program as well as supporting donor events to deepen engagement and connect more donors to the compelling and important work of the San Diego Rescue Mission.

Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the Development Team

- Collaborate with team members and actively pursue learning and best practice to help grow our donor's connection to the Mission
- Participate in supporting donor engagement strategies including events.
- Provide encouragement and support to the Development Team
- To attend and serve at holiday meals, graduations, etc
Administrative Duties
- Answer donor phone line, direct calls and provide excellent customer service.
- Respond to the general info account email on a regular basis.
- Ensure donor engagement team supplies are organized and ordered in an efficient and timely manner.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Implementing Mid- Level Donor Communication Plan
- Coordinate and execute on the donor touches and communications plan.
- Support the DEEM in developing and executing donor touches.
- Ensure timely and strategic execution of all donor communications.
- Be able to communicate with excellence on the San Diego Rescue Mission focusing on the programs and services.
- Ensure donor activity is tracked within the CRM and maintain quality donor data.
- Provide monthly activity report to DEEM to ensure goals and strategies are being met.
Helping to Cultivate Mid-level Donor Relationships
- Manage caseload of mid-level donors using Mission best practices.
- Provide engaging and inspiring tours of the Mission Facilities and Programs.
- Be willing to deliver donor gifts and make visits using your own vehicle.
- Cultivate current and prospective mid-level donors, provide excellent customer service, timely informational updates, and support to all assigned donors.
- Steward assigned mid-level donors and send thanks to them in a timely manner through email, handwritten notes, phone calls and other methods.
- Deepen donor connections to the Mission through getting them to attend engagement events, volunteer opportunities and special donor experiences.
- Achieve annual retention, upgrades and giving goals.
- Perform prospect research within current caseload to assist with identifying donors as key prospect for handoff to Officer caseload and facilitate a smooth transition.
To support Donor Engagement Events
- Support mid-level donor engagement and general mission events- including but not limited to volunteer opportunities and annual events.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to events.
- Support day-of event operations including set-up, execution and tear-down.

Qualifications

The Mission assumes that the incumbent will serve as an advocate for the Mission, will support and defend our Mission Statement, Statement of Faith and Mission Values, and has a genuine desire to serve the Lord in the ministry of 'rescue'.
Education: Working towards or a bachelor's degree in business, communication or related field from an accredited institution.
Experience: Preferred work experience in administrative, sales, fundraising or development position that demonstrates successful donor/client cultivation. Suggested experience in coordinating events and providing excellent customer service.
Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook); typing (min 35 wpm); coordinate and/or direct a variety of complex tasks and assignments simultaneously and successfully; exercise good judgment and make sensible decisions; attentive to detail; prioritize effectively; effective oral and written communication skills; eagerness to learn and be trained; work both independently and as part of a team; provide information to public by answering questions and requests; regular, timely attendance.

Travel/Transportation: The incumbent must travel on a periodic basis, as the job requires. The incumbent must have reliable transportation. If the incumbent receives authorization to use a Mission vehicle to perform duties, he or she must present a current California driver's license and good driving record in order to be placed on the Mission's insurance policy.
Managerial Role
The incumbent has no supervision responsibilities overseeing paid staff.
