What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ticket Services Associate (Full-Time, Part-Time and Seasonal) position at San Diego Symphony Orchestra?
The Ticket Services Associate works with the public to facilitate ticket sales for concerts and events. This position will provide exceptional customer service by answering telephone, window, and email inquiries from the public regarding ticketing and general information. The Ticket Services Associate is responsible for serving as the first point of contact for patrons needing assistance with seating options, pricing, subscriptions and more.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary contact for patrons and clients of the San Diego Symphony.
- Provide excellent service for all phone, email, and in-person interactions regarding San Diego Symphony information assistance and ticket sales.
- Take calls from patrons looking for assistance with single ticket purchases, subscription purchases, ticket exchanges, ticket donations and general questions.
- Ensure seamless communication between the Box Office and the Institutional Advancement department.
- Work with the Institutional Advancement department to prioritize VIP clients and major donors during the subscription seating process and single ticket sales; monitor which donor is seated where and approve final selection of seat subscription locations for major donors.
- Coordinate ticketing needs for special events.
- Other duties as assigned.
This position requires a work schedule heavy in evening and weekend shifts. All candidates must be available during these times on a consistent basis.
This position works onsite at the Box Office location at/near Jacobs Music Center as well as The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. This position often functions within a call center type of environment and prolonged use of a telephone in order to provide in-depth service to clients is required.
Education and experience:
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Minimum one year of experience in a customer service role (preferred).
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Strong customer service and professional communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of accounting nomenclature and principles.
- Able to quickly learn new software programs.
- Able to successfully multi-task.
- Able to work as a team player.
- Able to sit for long periods of time.
- Tessitura and/or Formstack experience preferred.
This is a full-time seasonal position, with the potential to transition into a permanent role. The pay rate is $18.50/hour.
