Description
The San Diego Unified School District invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of Wellness Center Coordinator.
The Wellness Center Coordinator is responsible for cultivating a safe, inclusive space for students to share wellness concerns, seek guidance, and access resources that support social-emotional and mental wellbeing. This includes, but is not limited to, building, sustaining, and integrating systems of supports in collaboration with the school community and service providers; implementing comprehensive social-emotional, mental health and wellness education and prevention and performing related work as required to ensure that all services and programs are in alignment with student wellness goals. Successful candidates should have experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a secondary school setting, must demonstrate their skills in implementing social-emotional, mental health and wellness education and prevention programs for students, have a firm understanding of youth behavioral health, and capacity to building relationships with all stakeholders within a school community.

This recruitment will be used to establish an Eligibility List for the current Wellness Center Coordinator vacancies shown above as well as any future vacancies. This list will be active for three (3) months with the possibility to be extended.
This is a promotional/open opportunity, which means that current monthly-salaried employees receive precedence over other candidates on the eligible list.
For a promotional/open posting, the top ten internal applicants will be provided unless there is an insufficient number and then the list will be supplemented with the top external applicants to make up the ten (Employment Regulations for the Classified Service of the San Diego Unified School District: Article 2, Section 9).
The Wellness Center Coordinator will be paid on the OTBS Salary Schedule. Salary Grade: 050. The OTBS Salary Schedule can be found by clicking here.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to an Associate’s degree in psychology, social services, education, public health, health and human services, school counseling, or a related field, and five (5) years of progressively responsible, related experience working with students and families in the TK-12 educational system or with organizations that service school communities. Community Health Worker Certification or Wellness Coach Certification preferred.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided).
