Job Summary
The Student Health Care Specialist provides specialized health care services and procedures. The Student Health Care Specialist is an itinerant position and may perform assigned duties at school sites, during student transportation or at offsite locations based upon student needs. Employees in this classification report to special education and school site administrators and also receive direction from District Nurses.
Requirements / Qualifications
LVN or RN certification - please attach
CPR / First Aid Certification - please attach
Online First Aid certificates are acceptable, however, CPR must include hands on classroom training.

School term (205 days) / 6 - 8 hours depending upon the school site assignment

The competitive basis for this recruitment is established as dual certification. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications are placed on an eligibility list. Selection interviews will be scheduled as candidates qualify until vacancies are filled.
Veterans may be eligible for preference points on entrance examinations (entrance is defined as candidates who are not current employees of the District). A copy of your DD214 must be submtted at time of application.
Employment with San Dieguito Union High School District is contingent upon successful completion of post-offer background check, fingerprinting, physical exam including tuberculosis, drug and alcohol screening, and an Oath of Allegiance.
The probationary period for a new or promotional employee is six months or 130 days of paid service, whichever is longer. Management employees serve a probationary period of one year.
