Purpose StatementThe ideal candidate is a passionate educator with deep content knowledge, strong pedagogical skills, and a commitment to fostering critical thinking, and communication. This teacher will inspire students through rigorous, engaging, and discussion-based instruction across a range of English courses.Beyond the classroom, the teacher will serve as an advisor, and community member, supporting students’ academic, personal, and social growth.Key ResponsibilitiesTeach four sections of high school English, covering a range of courses, including college-prep and/or Honors English.Design and implement engaging, inquiry-based curricula that foster critical thinking,literary analysis, and writing skill development.Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including ELL and advanced students.Create and sustain a climate of trust, respect, and inclusion, encouraging students to take intellectual risks.Provide timely, clear, and constructive feedback on student work.Serve as an advisor, supporting students' academic and personal growth.Lead or moderate at least one co-curricular activity, such as a club, affinity group, publication, athletic program, or other programming (equivalent in load to teaching one class).Participate actively in faculty collaboration, professional learning communities, and interdisciplinary initiatives.Contribute to experiential learning opportunities, including retreats and service-learning projects.Support admissions efforts, including school tours, open houses, and prospective student events.Attend and support school-wide events, such as plays, concerts, and athletic competitions.
