Job Title: Community Engagement Coordinator
Program: Tobacco Control and Prevention Program (TCPP) Cessation Capacity Building Learning Collaboratives for Priority Populations
Supervisor: Director of Community Engagement
Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Duration: Temporary, position ends June 30, 2025
Rate: Commensurate with experience
Job Summary:
The Community Engagement Coordinator will facilitate and implement project activities for the Cessation Capacity Building Learning Collaboratives for Priority Populations initiative. This role is responsible for developing and executing community engagement strategies tailored to the priority population predominantly represented in the designated area. Additionally, the Community Engagement Coordinator will provide technical assistance in forming and sustaining the learning collaborative, ensuring cultural competency and effective community engagement.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of full-time paid experience in public health, public policy, and/or community organizing/advocacy.
- At least one (1) year of paid experience implementing public health programs focused on community organizing and advocacy.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience engaging and mobilizing community-based organizations, stakeholders, and culturally diverse groups.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with county- or state-funded public health initiatives.
- Familiarity with tobacco cessation programs, social determinants of health, and behavioral health interventions.
- Bilingual proficiency (Spanish) is a plus.
Work Environment & Conditions:
- Hybrid work environment with periodic in-person meetings and events.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
- Must have access to reliable transportation for site visits and stakeholder meetings.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Develop and implement community engagement strategies tailored to priority populations.
- Build relationships with community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, clinical providers, and health insurance representatives.
- Facilitate and attend meetings with community stakeholders to promote tobacco cessation efforts.
Learning Collaborative Development & Support:
- Assist in forming and sustaining the Learning Collaborative by recruiting and engaging members.
- Provide technical assistance to stakeholders to enhance cultural competency and community engagement.
- Help develop a Learning Collaborative Toolkit with best practices for engaging diverse communities.
Program Implementation & Technical Assistance:
- Support the dissemination of Public Health-approved educational materials on tobacco cessation.
- Coordinate and attend Public Health-approved events to promote cessation programs.
- Provide one-on-one technical assistance to community organizations and stakeholders.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Track community engagement activities, stakeholder interactions, and technical assistance efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts, stakeholder participation, and event engagements.
- Assist with progress reports and documentation required by Public Health.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
