Description
PURPOSE: The Patron Services team seeks to create an opera experience that is accessible and inviting to all and to provide welcoming, informative customer support to experienced and new opera goers alike.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Tickets sales over the phone, internet, by mail and in person. Included in these sales are subscriptions of various types, exchanges, including advance exchanges for packages, ticket upgrades, donations, both stand alone, and in conjunction with single ticket and package sales and parking in two garages
- All other aspects of ticket sales and services
- Working nights and weekends
- Assist with box office duties for off-site events
- Offer support for online ticket sales
- Offer support to the Subscriber Representatives, maintaining the same high level of service as given by the Subscriber Representatives
- Maintain patron account information according to company business rules, best practices, and following PCI requirements
- Handle a wide variety of customer service issues
- Work the will call and sales windows, as needed, for performances both on-site and off-site, as scheduled
- Dress in a manner suitable to working the Opera Box Office window
- Follow company and box office procedures for cash and payment handling
- File will call tickets accurately and accurately mail tickets
- Carry a box weighing up to 30 lbs.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience selling tickets for a non-profit organization preferred
PREREQUISITE SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of computerized ticketing procedures, experience with Tessitura preferred
- Must be able to work flexible hours. including evenings and weekends
- Ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and patient manner, both by phone, in writing, and in person, with the public, with patrons, and with colleagues
- Ability to work independently; prioritize tasks; and exercise good judgment and initiative
- Ability to work accurately and with attention to detail in a high-volume sales environment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Excellent knowledge of spelling and grammar
- Must present a clean and neat appearance when dealing with members of the public
- Must be able to perform the functions of the position in a safe manner
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; database skills desirable
- Knowledge of opera repertoire preferred
- Sense of humor a plus
- Reliable daily attendance and punctuality
