Associate Veterinarian - General Practice (Owned Pets)
Come practice medicine in a state-of-the-art facility, under the banner of one of the most respected not-for-profit General Practice/Urgent Care Hospitals in San Francisco. The San Francisco SPCA believes that every pet family deserves access to quality, non-judgmental veterinary care, regardless of income. We are looking to welcome veterinarians who are passionate about forming relationships with our clients to help us achieve our goal of becoming the top general practice in the area. We have a strong nursing staff with over 20 well-trained, passionate RVTs who are ready to assist you in providing exceptional medicine.
What you can expect:
- Partner with our fully trained support staff, customer experience specialists, and other clinicians to focus on what you do best: providing quality care to client-owned pets in San Francisco.
- A team that is dedicated to a fear-free patient experience.
- Appointment flow that includes: Scheduled appointments (well & sick pets), same-day urgent care appointments, & procedures (routine surgeries, dentistry procedures, & urgent care surgeries). Appointment types are designated per doctor, per day.
- Our pay is competitive and not based on production (no negative accrual). Our goal is to serve, not drive revenue.
- Financial assistance options for our clients, including grants, to help you deliver the care your patients need. We grant $1M on average in financial aid every year, averaging $1,500 per client in need.

Logistics, Facility, and Equipment:
- Daytime shifts only
- On-site, free, gated parking lot with security
- Located in the vibrant Mission District neighborhood
- Dedicated feline waiting room and ward
- 16 exam rooms, spacious treatment area with 10 wet tables, 2 surgical suites, dental suite, ultrasound/endoscopy suite
- Flexible and rigid endoscopy, video otoscopy
- Digital radiography including dental
- Ultrasound: (stand-alone and portable)
- Mentorship in a collaborative environment with regular doctor's meetings and case rounds

Requirements
- DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary school in general practice
- Active, non-restricted CA state veterinary license or ability to obtain one
- Able to perform advanced soft tissue surgeries and pursue advanced medical workups
Salary : $135,000 - $225,000
