The San Francisco Standard is currently seeking an experienced Art Director to join our creative team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the visual direction of our rapidly expanding digital media company.
Reporting to the Creative Director, the candidate has a background in new media and editorial content design. We are looking for someone who excels in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple projects simultaneously, and is proficient in producing high-quality designs across various platforms and technologies.
We are looking for innovative ideas and forward-thinking individuals who can create designs that authentically capture the essence of San Francisco and its residents.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with editors, photo editors, multimedia professionals, and other journalists to create engaging storytelling experiences across multiple platforms
- Determine the most effective approach to tell a story
- Work closely with product designers and data analysts to enhance user experience and outcomes
- Collaborate with the Creative Director to establish brand consistency across the newsroom
- Design, direct, and coordinate the implementation of stories using our CMS
- Commission and oversee freelance illustrators and other artists
- Produce photo-illustrations as needed
- Work with the Creative Director to develop branding for new initiatives
Requirements :
The San Francisco Standard is a hybrid workplace, where employees are expected to be in the office four days a week.
