What You Will Do : This position performs complex, sensitive, detailed, and difficult professional-level analytical work in the areas of legislative and administrative policy and data analysis related to children, youth, and family services. It supports Departmental functions with data management, policy analysis, and program evaluation, and conducts key research and strategic planning. This position will report to the Data and Analytics Manager and will also provide analytical support to program managers in other teams in the department.

Role Description : The essential duties of this position include :

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis, including evaluating and analyzing internal data collected in DCYF's Contract Management System (CMS), developing surveys, and analyzing data from external sources.
  • Provide support for major Departmental deliverables such as the Community Needs Assessment (CNA), Local Action Plan (LAP), Services Allocation Plan (SAP), and Request for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Analyze trends in Department-funded services and prepare statistical reports.
  • Work with staff from various teams to define and monitor key metrics.
  • Prepare recommendations regarding compliance with legislation and regulations.
  • Develop reports and create dashboards with program outcomes and indicators.
  • Conduct ad hoc research and data analysis as needed.
  • Assist in the production of written analysis and presentation materials.
  • Develop, create, and edit materials in various formats.

How to qualify

  • Education : Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university;
  • Experience : Three (3) years full-time equivalent experience performing professional-level analytical work related to the duties of this position. AND

    Candidates must possess these two (2) Special Conditions :

  • Policy Analysis : Experience conducting complex analyses related to strengthening families or community building – 6 months of experience.
  • Community Development : Experience with the development and implementation of programs that focus on strengthening families – 6 months of experience.
  • Substitution : Possession of a graduate degree may be substituted for one (1) year of required experience.
