POSITION SUMMARY:
The Primary Stroke Center Coordinator, RN is responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, and management of the San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital Primary Stroke Center. This role ensures compliance with Joint Commission and American Heart Association (AHA)/American Stroke Association (ASA) certification standards while driving continuous improvement in stroke care delivery. The coordinator collaborates with hospital leadership, emergency medical services (EMS), providers and clinical teams to ensure that stroke care protocols and performance are aligned with national guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education:
- Graduated from a school of nursing with either a Masters in a Health-Related field/Nursing or BSN degree preferred.
- Licensure (maintains appropriate licenses and certifications):
- CA RN license
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- NIHSS Certification
• Preferred: Stroke Certified Registered Nurse (SCRN) certification.
- Experience:
- Knowledge of neurological/neurosurgical services.
- Minimum of two years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse including care of stroke patients with demonstrated advanced practice teaching skills, and leadership skills.
- RN neuro experience (critical care experience preferred).
- Knowledge of program plan and development, and a familiarity with regulatory and accrediting agency standards preferred.
