Job Summary
The Wound Technician plays a crucial role in welcoming patients and preparing the patient to be seen by the provider. They will take vitals, take pictures, and assist the provider throughout the visit. They will help coordinate care when imaging, lab work, home health, or other resources are needed. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively with others. Applicants who are Medical Assistants or EMTs are preferred.
Duties
- Perform vital signs.
- Administer medications as prescribed and according to established protocols.
- Keep rooms cleaned, well stocked, and prepped for patient encounters
- Assist the provider during the the wound care visit
- Perform instrument sterilization.
- Provide basic life support, including airway management and CPR, as needed.
- Stay updated on medical terminology and procedures relevant to wound care.
Skills
- Proficient in taking vital signs and understanding physiological responses.
- Familiarity with medical terminology used in medical offices.
- Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach to treatment.
- Ability to perform some heavy lifting and physically manage patients during transport.
