Position Description:
The Admissions Director’s main responsibility is to manage educational recruitment and admissions for our campus. The primary focus will be to lead the expansion and overall growth of SIU by implementing the goals and objectives of the Admissions Department. This position will serve as liaison to working closely with other departments to achieve admissions goals.
As Admissions Director, the individual oversees, in conjunction with the Recruitment Director, the implementation of the corporate admissions policies and ensures the department compliance.
The Admissions Director supervises and manages the day-to-day operations of the Admissions Department, including student recruitment, following admissions procedures, and providing training and oversight directed by corporate policy and general enrollment operations.
In addition, the Admissions Director monitors the department inquiries related to conversions and enrollments and takes the appropriate steps to ensure the overall goals are met while ensuring that the department remains compliant with corporate policy and procedure.
Essential Functions:
- Act as contact for prospective students and business partners seeking information about the University.
- Develop referral programs and networking strategies in conjunction with the marketing department.
- Provide information to inquiries by phone or in-person on university programs, related industries, and careers.
- Mail university information to all potential prospects.
- Perform follow-up (callbacks) to inquiries by phone and/or emails to follow through on partnerships.
- Deliver presentations and use provided marketing materials to promote the University.
- Conduct tours of the University to potential partners.
- Follow established procedures for I-20 (International students) (When applicable) and enrollments procedures.
- Attend training for product knowledge and continued professional development.
- Attend The University’s marketing events to boost and promote our programs and different educational offerings.
- Attend other events related to Admissions that support the department’s goals.
- Oversee and implement all admissions procedures, including corporate policies and procedures.
- Coordinate all student recruitment, on and off campus.
- Work with the Vice- President on the overall admissions strategies.
- Monitor leads production and flow.
- Maintain an appropriate level of follow-up (callbacks) contact.
- Monitor interviews and phone calls to provide constructive feedback to ensure Admissions Coordinators meet their objectives and comply with corporate policy and procedures.
- Discuss and review difficult inquiry calls and make recommendations.
- Assure all data entry, applications, and forms associated with the enrollment are processed accurately and timely.
- Prepare daily & weekly reports to discuss concerns, successes, and goal attainments.
- Maintain a positive attitude and a team approach within the department.
- Motivate and manage the Admissions Team to achieve the departmental goals.
- Review training needs and assist in conducting ongoing training sessions.
- Travel to other campuses and educational institutions.
25. Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for student recruitment.
26. Implement marketing ideas to support all university events, open houses, university fairs, etc.
27. Coordinate recruitment activities at local High Schools, outside agencies, community centers, and organizations to attract potential prospects.

Position Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS / ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES:
- Five years of experience in admissions recruitment in colleges or universities preferred.
- Professional Degree in, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related fields preferred.
- The ability to train, inspire, lead and organize a team of representatives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional telephone etiquette.
- Self-motivation with strong organizational skills and the drive to succeed.
- Experience utilizing digital resources and social networking tools to achieve business objectives preferred.
- Two years in a management position preferred.
- Capable of identifying market opportunities and developing a plan of action along with the SIU team and corporate leaders to evaluate the viability and pertinence.
- Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish
