Director, Dual Credit - North Campus

Essential Job Functions:

  • Fosters strong, collaborative relationships with high schools and academic departments by maintaining clear, timely, and professional communication. Works proactively with high school administrators, faculty, and instructional teams to identify and address challenges, always seeking effective solutions that support dual credit and Early College High School (ECHS) students. Ensures that all concerns are resolved in a constructive and efficient manner, promoting a positive and solution-focused partnership between the College, high schools, and academic departments.
  • Supervises, coordinates and directs admissions, orientation, testing, and registration processes for dual credit and ECHS students, overseeing all aspects of new student intake and record management including visits to partner high schools for parent and student recruitment, orientation, and information sessions. Organizes and oversees annual dual credit events and ceremonies on campus, while representing the College at events at high school campuses.
  • Forecasts needs for class sections and collaborate with instructional deans and department chairs to build a schedule of classes that meets the needs of dual credit and (ECHS) students; both at the College and approved off-site locations.
  • Facilitates timely, professional communication and problem resolution strategies with students. Addresses grade concerns, student code of conduct violations, complaints, and discipline issues with appropriate contact in a timely manner. Coordinates with compliance and judicial affairs and/or department chairs as issues move through the process. Communicates with student and high school partners throughout the process and inform them of the outcome.
  • Collaborates with counterparts to ensure consistent and uniform application of all functions, processes, and services within dual credit across the College.
  • Consults with ISD administrators, private schools, and instructional deans to identify and explore opportunities for expanding dual credit offerings in both academic and technical fields. Engages in regular meetings to drive continuous process improvement and ensure the success of partnership initiatives.
  • Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, and evaluates dual credit staff through the performance management system. Makes appropriate staffing recommendations in accordance with College policies and procedures.
  • Manages visits to constituent high schools to facilitate parent/student recruiting, orientation, and convocation sessions. Executes annual events and ceremonies on campus. Represents the College at recruitment, orientation, and celebration events on the high school campus.
  • Contributes to advisory boards for ECHS programs, reviews ECHS designation applications, memorandums of understanding (MOUs) and blueprints to ensure the program administration meets Texas Education Agency (TEA) standards and that outcome-based measures for each designation are met. Meets with TEA coaches and ECHS leaders during on-site visits and note areas needing improvement and/or successes. Holds monthly meetings with ECHS program leaders.
  • Consults and collaborates with the dean, student development to plan, implement, and evaluate plans and services through data analysis.

Additional Job Functions:

  • Represents the College with internal departments, and professional organizations. Serves on standing teams for the College, high school, and industry partners including Provost Communication Council, Strategic Leadership Communication Council, Behavior Intervention Team, Gulf Coast Dual Credit Consortium, Texas Regional Pathways Network, and other teams, councils or task forces as requested.
  • Communicates College and ISD closure information to ISD administration and College faculty during emergencies. Manages any crisis involving student injury, illness or other immediate threat in collaboration with campus police, compliance and judicial affairs, and appropriate ISD personnel.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Maintain a personal and professional commitment to the College values and the success of the College and its students.
  • Must be team-oriented with the ability to work well with other staff and faculty members in the development and administration of dual credit and ECHS programs.
  • Knowledge of College admissions policies and procedures, guidelines and regulations including Lower Division Academic Course Guide Manual, Instructional Programs in Workforce Education, Workforce Education Course Guide Manual, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on College (SACSCOC) Principles, TEA and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) regarding dual credit, ECHS, and technical credit.
  • Knowledge of high school curriculum as it relates to college readiness and dual credit coursework.
  • Be knowledgeable of and responsive to FERPA law and regulations.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Banner Student information system

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited college/university

Preferred Education:

  • Master's degree

Required Experience:

  • College teaching, counseling, or other higher education experience at a leadership level
  • Minimum of five years of teaching, counseling, or other college experience or a combination of high school and college experiences

Preferred Experience:

  • Public school teaching or counseling experience
  • Banner Student system experience

NOTE: The duties of this position require a physical presence at the assigned on-site work location during unrestricted operations with very limited or no opportunity for remote work arrangements.

Salary Grade: 119
