As a Group Fitness Instructor, your role is to create and lead safe, effective and engaging group fitness classes for individuals of varying fitness levels. You will be responsible for planning and implementing your class, motivating and coaching participants, as well as ensuring the safety and well-being of all attendees. Key Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain current CPR and AED certifications.
- Provide a fun and safe workout through one or more specialty group exercise classes.
- Educate members concerning proper exercise techniques and constantly monitor safety to avoid any injuries.
- Bring music to accompany the class as applicable.
- Create innovative ways to keep members involved and engaged in the class.
- Keep members upbeat and enthusiastic during class.
- Promote classes and assist in promotions and events.
- Keep up with current trends in the fitness industry and local area.
Qualifications:
- Certified through a nationally accredited training organization.
- CPR and AED certifications that are up to date.
- One year experience in teaching fitness class is preferred.
- Enthusiasm and a positive attitude are a must!
- Must be able to move, carry and lift equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend and reach high and low levels.
- Must demonstrate physical endurance for up to 60 minutes at a time of continuous cardiovascular movement.
- Ability to give and follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively in English.
