Definition:
Under the general direction of the Supervisor, Manager, or Director of Customer Systems, the Business Analyst I is responsible for configuring, designing, administrating, and supporting Customer Systems applications.
Distinguishing Features:
This position requires proven analytical skills and technical aptitude. The incumbent works collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams in a multi-jurisdictional utility. Incumbent effectively manages changing priorities and critical deadlines.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
The Business Analyst I is responsible for understanding Customer Systems functionality and meeting business requirements related to system administration and data analysis.
Responsibilities will include:
- Gather, understand, and document requirements.
- Analyze data architecture and system functionality.
- Document design and specification for configuration/development
- Test and validate results.
- Develop business process documentation and provide end-user training and support.
- Administer user access in all Customer Systems applications.
- Conduct ad-hoc data analyses and queries
- Serve as the expert in customer data and reporting needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, management information systems, or a closely related field. Recent prior business analyst or Oracle Customer Care and Billing (CCB) experience preferable.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Highly motivated to develop technical aptitude and data analysis skills. Understanding of information systems concepts, data flow/integration, and business processes. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in MS Office Applications and SQL. Keen attention to detail. Must be able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Other Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver’s license (minimum Class C) and have a satisfactory driving record.
