The instructor will teach 15 load hours per semester of primarily freshman and sophomore-level communication courses, serve on college committees, and engage in the course and program development.
Essential Responsibilities
- The position reports directly to the Dean of the School of Humanities and will teach 15 credit hours per semester of primarily freshman and sophomore college-level communication classes.
- Responsibilities will include organizing and maintaining curricula in communications, developing and revising instructional materials as appropriate, keeping student records; assisting in recommending and orienting part-time faculty; and working with college councils and committees as assigned.
- The instructor will maintain a minimum of five office hours per week and may be required to teach day, evening, and weekends.
- Will be required to teach at the satellite centers/local high schools as needed.
- Performs related duties.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in the discipline in which they are teaching, or a master’s degree and 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the objectives and functions of the position in order to instruct students, usually interpreted to require two to three years of related experience.
