Position Summary
The Test Manger is responsible for creating and implementing the testing plans and scenarios for the College’s Workday implementation project. They will work with the CHESS and Workday teams to design, develop, and manage the test scenarios for the functional areas.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Reports directly to the Director of IT, ERP/SIS Implementation.
- Own test quality and outcome of all test phases in a Workday Implementation including but not limited to System Integration Test, Performance Test, Payroll Parallel Run etc.
- Development and maintenance of procedures for smoke, regressions, system load, data conversion, system integration test, and user acceptance testing.
- Work with downstream/ upstream application owners to ensure integrated tests are executed and completed in time.
- Collaborate with teams to meet the required outcomes and objectives.
- Able to develop innovative automated and manual testing approaches to meet deadlines while maintaining quality assurance.
- Prioritizes system testing requirements and areas for self and users, identifies and eliminates potential testing roadblocks.
- Work with users to plan User Acceptance Testing activities ensuring adequate coverage.
- Work with the vendor team on defect triage meetings and drive defect fix/ retest and closure.
- Create test progress reports.
- Performs other related duties.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Director IT, ERP/SIS Implementation assigns work in terms of department goals and objectives. The supervisor reviews work through reports and observation of department activities.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include all Federal, State and Local laws, statues policies and procedures as well as San Juan College security policies, FERPA industry best practices, social media guidelines, and college and department policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application. The position assists in development of departmental guidelines.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
- The work consists of varied complex duties that impact key information systems for the College.
- The purpose of this position is to ensure that testing plans are created, implemented, and tracked for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Student Information System migration from Colleague to Workday. Success in this position results in the provision of a stable and secure software environment, including the associated data that contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of a variety of college operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems; coordinate plan and schedule; test and implement programs; program review, and evaluate technical information.
- Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions through testing business processes.
- Ability to communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with having had a similar position for ten or more years.
