Guest Services Associate (outside Golf Course)

Reports to: Golf Operations Manager

General Purpose:

Provide complete services for guests relating to golf operations including handling of bags, golf carts and practice facilities. Daily duties for this position include cleaning and maintaining the golf cart fleet, maintaining the driving range and ball supply, assisting guests, helping with golf bags, issuing golf carts, tournament support, and taking care of all daily cart barn tasks.

Essential Duties:

• Promote the game of golf and facility programs to all guests who visit San Juan Oaks.
• Ensure golf carts are cleaned thoroughly and properly prepared with score cards, pencils, tees and towels. Return carts to designated areas and ensure charging for next day.
• Setup and breakdown range daily. Transport range balls to each open area of range and fill appropriate containers.
• Keep practice chipping and putting areas neat and clean, pick up all practice balls during and at the end of the day.
• Greet and assist guests when arriving at the bag drop location.
• Ensure golf carts are in good working and safe condition prior to being issued to a guest.
• Notify the golf shop of all damage or other issues with the cart fleet immediately.
• Oversee all driving range duties; including ball supply, keep supply current throughout the day.Keep ball crates fully stocked. Check on the club washers throughout the day, ensuring they have clean water, and that all garbage/debris is picked up.
• Setup and breakdown range daily. Transport range balls to each open area of range and fill appropriate containers.
• Oversee the chipping green and bunker area. Rake the bunker daily and pick up lose range balls. Never allow golf balls to be left on chipping/putting green when not in use.
• Enforce all San Juan Oaks course rules and policies as set forth by management.
• Keep all needed supplies at the podium while always keeping the podium neat and clean.
• Keep accurate records for golf groups and the cart numbers issued to each guest.
• Ensure all needed supplies are well stocked.
• Keep all work areas clean and free of clutter.
• Keep rental clubs neat and clean and in their proper place. Clean and return all rental clubs to the golf shop after guest play.
• Maintain and clean the back area of the cart barn as well as the washing area.
• Take all trash out as needed. Make sure all recyclable items are dumped into blue bins and all organic/green waste is dumped in green bins.
• Ensure plastic bottles (lids off) and aluminum cans are put into proper bins for recycling efforts.
• Monitor the parking lot and bag drop area.
• Perform other daily duties that may be assigned by Management or Golf Shop Staff

Minimum Requirements:

Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At a minimum 18 years of age

Preferred Requirements:

Previous experience at a golf course, golf club or related hospitality environment.

Physical Demands:

Frequently stands, walks, talks and hears. Frequently uses hands. Regularly reaches with arms and hands. Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches. Frequently lifts up to 50 pounds. Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions; may come into contact with fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is moderate.

Certificates/Licenses:

Valid Driver’s License
