Reports to: Department Manager(s) or Director of Food and Beverage
Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age
General Purpose:
We are seeking a friendly and dependable Server/Barista to join our team for the early morning shift at 6:30am and afternoon shifts as a server. As a Server/Barista, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while providing exceptional coffee and food service. This individual will be responsible for the smooth operation of the opening shift, ensuring a great start to our customer’s day.
Essential Barista Duties:
- Open Golfers Grind and McCann’s and ensure it’s ready for customers by the start of the morning shift.
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and espresso beverages according to customer preferences.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and answering questions about menu items.
- Serve light food items such as pastries, sandwiches, and other breakfast options.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee bar and seating area.
- Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels to ensure smooth operation throughout the shift.
- Reviews daily schedules, calendar of events, and club activities.
- Accountable for all transactions through the Point-of-Sale system (Toast)
- Communicates guest concerns or comments immediately to the Director of Food and Beverage, Chef or Manager on Duty.
- Ensures a safe work environment and always follows safety protocols.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
Additional Server Duties:
- Assists with setting tables and rearranging tables to accommodate larger parties.
- Provides immediate attention to all guests upon seating.
- Describes specials of the day to the guests. Answers questions regarding any menu item and offers suggestions of menu items when appropriate.
- Presents menus and assists guests in selecting food and beverage items.
- Delivers food to guests promptly after preparation.
- Confirms orders with the chefs and bartenders whenever clarification is requested.
- Ensures guest satisfaction. Anticipates guest needs, replenishes items as needed, and maintains a clean and clutter free table.
- Accountable for all payment transactions. Utilizes the Point-of-Sale System (Toast) properly and strives for 100% accuracy in all charges and transactions.
- Follows established training and systems for taking, placing, and delivering orders.
- Follows established standards for greeting, cocktail service, food delivery and general service techniques.
- Collaborates with other servers, kitchen, and bar staff before, during and after meal service periods to execute a “Guests Comes First” approach.
- Acknowledge all guests when arriving, during meal service and upon departure.
- Practices proper tray service for all food and beverage service.
- Prepares restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order.
- Follow tip reporting responsibilities.
- Works closely with restaurant management to immediately address all guest concerns.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 21 or older for this position,
- High School diploma or equivalent,
- 1 year of Food & Beverage experience,
- 3 months of Barista and 1 year Server experience
Certificates/Licenses:
- Valid Driver’s License Required
- Food Handler Certificate
