Job Summary
Make a Difference! Get paid 45K to become a Teacher! San Lorenzo Unified is addressing California's teacher shortage and our local hiring needs by recruiting and training diverse teacher candidates who are committed to making a difference for all our youth in our community. These teachers in training or "residents" are carefully matched with a mentor teacher and co-teach with them for a full year, gradually assuming more and more responsibility for instruction in their classroom. Our partner, Alder Graduate School of Education, offers a combination of in-person and online coursework enabling residents to earn a teaching credential and a Master's degree in only one year. Residents are awarded a $45,750 stipend to help with cost of living while they are full time students. Upon successful completion of the program, residents are given priority consideration in hiring.
