What are the responsibilities and job description for the Classroom Assistant - Child Development Program (Preschool) position at San Luis Obispo County Office of Education?
Under guidance of the assigned teacher, provide care, supervision and social/learning activities to preschool-age children in a classroom environment. Help with planning and implementing activities to meet the needs and interests of preschool-age children. Assist in the preparation of instructional materials. Provide clerical support. Required:
-High school diploma or equivalent.
-6 semester units of college coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, or willingness to enroll within 130 days of employment.
-Three months experience working or volunteering with preschool-age children in an organized setting.
-First Aid and CPR certification (provided by SLOCOE if needed) must be obtained within 130 days of employment.
Desired:
-6 semester units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
