As our Addictions Counselor, your day involves co-occurring comprehensive assessments, helping clients navigate both substance use and mental health challenges. Leading SUD groups- covering relapse prevention and thinking for change-you provide strategies for self-improvement and personal growth. Throughout the day, you facilitate individual SUD and mental health treatment sessions, working one-on-one with clients to help them achieve their recovery goals. You serve as a liaison and resource to local agencies and educators, ensuring community members receive the support they need. You also provide family, couples, and group therapy, responding to 27.10 emergencies. Whether you're identifying community resources, meeting performance standards, or collaborating with your team, every action you take contributes to a mission of healing and transformation.
Addictions Counselor Qualifications:
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling
- Colorado licensed counselor with certified addiction specialist/licensed addiction counselor certifications
- Previous experience is not required, but experience in human services is helpful
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Suite)
- Willingness to travel
- Crisis intervention skills
- Ability to use an electronic health record system
- Ability to provide 27.10 assessments
- Ability to create measurable, time-limited treatment plans
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
