The ideal candidate will share the Colleges’ commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population. This position is a “pool” position meaning that openings may or may not be currently available.Duties and Responsibilities The part-time Counselor may : Teach college success and career and personal development coursesProvide comprehensive counseling services to students, including academic, career and personal counseling on a drop-in and appointment basisAssist students in clarifying their educational goals, developing student educational plans (SEPs), and selecting coursesCollaborate with both instructional and counseling faculty and staff and with special programs to maximize student successParticipate in the implementation of transfer and matriculation activities at the collegeParticipate in outreach activities and events in campus classrooms, local high schools, adult schools, and community agenciesProvide follow-up services to students on probation and dismissal statusUtilize and keep abreast of advanced counseling methods which includes integrating technology to support student learning and career objectivesMinimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree or above in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy, or marriage, family and child counseling OR the equivalent.
