What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Technician position at San Mateo County Transit District?
General
Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director of Real Estate & Development this position is responsible for issuing permits to third parties and assisting with property management in support of the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, SamTrans and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (“Agencies”).
Essential Functions & Duties
- Draft and issue all third-party access agreements for the Agencies such as license agreements, rights of entry, encroachment permits, expressive activity permits, etc.
- Work with the Agencies’ Engineering and Planning Departments to implement process for reviewing and issuing permits.
- Collect and track permit fees.
- Research and analyze local rental rates for inclusion in agency leases and other access agreements.
- Assist with property management.
- Keep and manage the Agencies’ property management spreadsheets and databases.
Examples of Essential Duties:
- Assist with monitoring risks and potential issues relating to property management.
- Prepare and organize licenses, rights of entry, leases, lease addendums, and approval packages for real estate documentation and circulate for approval.
- Track work and department records in an organized fashion utilizing common office software and report to supervisors when requested.
- Research department records to find licenses, leases, deeds, easements, and other current and historic documents to support Agency projects.
- Work with permitees and lessees to ensure prompt and current payment of rent.
- Work with lessees and Finance Department to ensure rent is collected in a timely manner and documented properly.
- Create exhibits for licenses, leases and other real estate documents.
- Document department processes and identify time and cost saving approaches to property management and permit issuance.
- Perform
- all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect oneself, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Sufficient experience, training and/or education to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. In lieu of a degree, work-related experience that demonstrates the skills and experience necessary to perform this role will be accepted. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to:
- Associates Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or related field
- Four (4) years full-time real estate experience.
Salary : $76,434 - $114,651
