Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our educational team. The English Teacher will play a crucial role in curriculum development and behavior management while supporting students' academic growth. Ideal candidates will hold or be able to attain an Oklahoma teacher certification. This position is full time. Requirements:
- Promote the mission of San Miguel School and model the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Support the growth and development of students in their faith
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the school curriculum, Reading and Language Arts standards, instruction and assessment
- Provide timely feedback on assignments and maintain accurate records and progress
- Strong rapport with students, faculty, staff and parents
- Willingness to participate in a faith-filled community
- Experience in working with middle school level students and maintaining classroom management
And:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
- Educate students in reading, writing, and critical thinking skills to promote literacy education.
- Utilize effective behavior management techniques to create a conducive learning environment.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational requirements.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and provide academic advising as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and research initiatives to enhance educational practices.
- Foster a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding student performance and classroom activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with students in an educational setting, preferably in private schools.
- Strong understanding of literacy education principles and curriculum development strategies.
- Excellent behavior management skills to effectively address classroom dynamics.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies for diverse learners.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to conduct research relevant to educational practices.
- Passion for educating students and fostering their academic success through innovative teaching methods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
