What are the responsibilities and job description for the LIBRARY MEDIA SERVICES TECHNICIAN - SAN ONOFRE SCHOOL position at SAN ONOFRE SCHOOL?
Fallbrook Union Elementary School District is a K-8 district.
The successful candidate must be able to accomplish the following responsibilities in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner:
- Directs students in appropriate library skills at each individual grade level.
- Assists students and teachers in locating library media text materials, research material for classroom use, and equipment.
- Effectively plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks within reasonable time limits. Work independently with minimal supervision. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Coordinates and supports teachers with classroom learning; research, implement, and present lessons to classroom groups; conduct library orientations; instruct students in children’s literature, research skills, internet use, and electronic card catalog skills; genre studies, author studies, personal narratives, and read aloud to reinforce and support appropriate grade-level reading.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
DETAILS FOR THIS POSITION:

- LENGTH OF WORK YEAR: Student Year Employee Calendar - *Beginning the 2025/2026 School Year
- WORK SITE: San Onofre School
- WORK SCHEDULE: 7.0 hours/day, (7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) 5 days/week
- BENEFITS: Benefit package includes, Health and Welfare, paid sick leave, vacation, and holidays (currently observing 14 paid holidays a year).
- REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade; and either an Associate’s Degree of Arts (AA) or have completed 48 college/university semester units or pass the FUESD proficiency test for this classification; knowledge of computer operations and/or interest in learning the basic routines and procedures used in a school library media center is necessary, or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities. Willingness to enroll in library-related classes and participate in professional growth activities is desirable. Experience working with diverse groups and cultures.
