The San Pasqual Economic Development Corporation (SPEDC) operates the Native Oaks Golf Club along with seeking other economic development opportunities to build sustainable self-sufficiency.
Summary
We are seeking a Kitchen Team Member to join our culinary team at the San Pasqual Economic Development Corporation. This role is essential in providing high-quality food service while contributing to our mission of community empowerment. Located in a vibrant environment, you will play a key part in our kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Food Prep Work: Washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, and meats to ensure they are ready for cooking.
- Preparing: Sandwiches, fruit cups, veggie cups, parfaits, salads, and other grab and go food items.
- Cooking Assistance: Assisting with basic cooking tasks, such as mixing ingredients, preparing sauces, or assembling dishes. Assist with cooking food for other concepts.
- Kitchen Organization: Keeping prep stations stocked with ingredients and utensils, ensuring smooth kitchen workflow.
- Food Storage: Properly storing perishable and non-perishable items to maintain freshness and meet safety standards.
- Cleaning Duties: Washing dishes, sanitizing prep areas, sweeping, mopping, and maintaining overall kitchen cleanliness.
- Compliance: Following health and food safety guidelines to meet restaurant standards and following personal safety.
Education, Experience, Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous kitchen prep experience is helpful
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to communicate in English is required
- Must have access to adequate transportation to and from job site
- Lifting 50lbs, standing, using utensils such as: knife, slicer, bag cutters, box cutter, scissors, fryer, oven, rethermalizer, ladder, step stool, scale, thermometer, label maker
- Must be able to obtain a food handlers card
- Must be available and willing to work a variety of days/times including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
