POSITION SUMMARY
San Pedro Fish Market, home of the World Famous Shrimp Tray, is a family owned and operated business that believes if we take care of our people, our people will take care of our guests. At San Pedro Fish Market, the Food Runner is responsible for providing our guests with exceptional hospitality by delivering their orders directly from the kitchen to the table efficiently and with a friendly smile. All positions within our organization participate in a team-oriented style of work by assisting one another to create a harmonious experience for the guest and a fun and exciting shift for each crew member. This position requires a swift work pace, passion for participating in a great guest experience, and cultivating return guests.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide guests with excellent hospitality, offering your assistance whenever necessary.
• Deliver orders to the correct guest table swiftly and with amazing and friendly service.
• Assist with clearing and cleaning tables throughout the guest’s stay as well as immediately upon
departure.
• Ensure food is served in accordance with proper safety standards.
• Adapt to changing guest volume levels with a sense of urgency.
• Perform opening, closing and side work ensuring that the opening and closing checklists are accurately
and efficiently completed.
• Manage multiple tasks at the same time while providing (equally) excellent service, efficiency, and
cheerfulness. If you are overwhelmed in any way, immediately notify management. Additional
resources will be provided. Do not jeopardize a positive guest experience by trying to cover everything
yourself, when additional resources would ensure guest satisfaction and result in positive reviews and
return visits.
• Comply with all city, state, federal and Company food and beverage regulations, alcohol control
policies, sanitation guidelines, and safety policies. Promptly report violations or concerns to
management.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year related experience in a similar work environment.
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
• Food Handler’s Card and RBS Certificate.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with others.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand an extensive variety of work-related instructions and
documents pertaining to Company operations, safety, finance, HR, and payroll.
• Basic computer skills, including Internet use, E-mail, and typing skills.
• Ability to use the Company’s timekeeping system and point of service system.
• Ability and willingness to learn and apply new work skill sets and concepts.
• Working knowledge of city, state, and federal hospitality laws and regulations.
