What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech Language Pathologist 25/26 School Year position at San Rafael City Schools?
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Itinerant position to work with communicatively handicapped students - (K-8)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in district-wide kindergarten speech and language screening program
Participate as consultant to the Student Study Team and member of School Assessment Team
Make referrals when appropriate
Conduct full diagnostic assessment (K-8) - speech, language, voice, fluency
Design and implement individualized educational programs for students with communication handicaps
Maintain student records, attendance accounting and pupil progress reports
Provide informational and consultative services relative to the management of the communication disorder to the student, the multi-disciplinary team, educational staff, the family and related medical/community agencies
Conduct in-service training for teachers and fellow staff members as indicated
Participate in site activities as specified in teaching contract
Keep abreast of trends and developments in special education and seek out creative educational practices to improve quality of instruction
QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of current appropriate California credentials
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology desirable
Demonstration of successful working experience with communicatively handicapped students and their parents
Demonstration of organization and management skills
Knowledge of bilingual/bicultural assessment issues highly desirable
Salary : $114,800 - $147,120
