Job Overview
Responsible for overseeing and supervising the preparation, baking and finishing of all desserts, breads, breakfast bakeries, cookies and other specified baked goods in accordance with departmental quality standards and specifications. Maintain the organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment. Direct and supervise all pastry department staff.
Duties
- Prepare a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards.
- Execute baking techniques with precision, ensuring consistent quality in all products.
- Decorate cakes and pastries with artistic flair, using various techniques to enhance presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking ingredients and supplies needed for production.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new dessert offerings and seasonal specialties.
- Follow all food preparation procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in the food industry is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, particularly in pastry making and cake decorating.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations within a kitchen environment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools, including knives and baking machinery.
