Job Summary :
The Senior Land Surveyor Manager will maintain effective working relationships with managers and clients through clear communication and pro-active progress reporting and is responsible for the accuracy, quality and completeness of work conducted within the Land Survey Department. This position is also responsible for facilitating timely completion of and profitability of projects. In addition, this individual will represent and actively market Sanbell services to existing and potential new clients.
Job Duties / Responsibilities :
- Hire, train, and manage the Land Survey Department staff
- Responsible for the proper execution of all projects and / or tasks within the survey department
- Dependent upon the project scope, may act as a task manager or a project manager
- Set department priorities including scheduling the project, establishing project budget, and assigning work responsibilities to staff
- Monitor scope, budget, deadlines and time constraints
- Review monthly invoicing
- Monitor commitments made to clients and ensure they are being met
- Stay current with latest survey technology and equipment, and implement procedures, workflows, and standards for new equipment
- Enforce company quality standards
- Maintain good business relationships with Sanbell client base
- Communicate and elevate major issues to the company owners
- Review and submit proposals for new projects, oversee and review change order requests, and assist with contract negotiations
- Resolve any client disputes or payment problems and ensure we have client authorization prior to proceeding with work
- Develop new client relationships
- Represent Sanbell at public hearings, client meetings and industry functions
- Evaluate and make recommendations to owners regarding equipment needs
- Review and sign documents, exhibits, maps, and contracts
- Data processing and analyzation
- Other duties as assigned
