Responsibilities:
SANCORP is seeking a Counter-Weapons of Mass Destruction (C-WMD) Staff Officer I to provide administrative, policy, operational, and analytic, support to the Counter Proliferation and Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate Office within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Intelligence and Security (OUSD(I&S)). The following are examples of responsibilities:
- Prepare briefings and staff packages for OUSD(I&S) leadership on state-of-the-art counter- proliferation of WMD and WMD delivery systems to include chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons.
- Evaluate commercial technologies, to include preparing compatibility studies, which could reduce the need for further R&D and/or reduce duplication of efforts at the Department level.
- Assist in the development of processes and frameworks within the DoD and, where appropriate, the broader interagency and Intelligence Community (IC); be able to distinguish between applications and the appropriate Title authorities (e.g., Title 10, Title 50, etc.) for their use.
- Represent C-WMD at various working-level meetings and conferences. Take notes and prepare meeting minutes and/or after-action reports based. Make recommendations to senior leadership on potential paths forward.
- Develop OSD staffing packages with time-sensitive requirements for senior leadership approval to include the Secretary of Defense and National Security Council.
- Develop and coordinate staff packages and technical mission integration efforts within DoD and across the IC.
