Job Title: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Job Summary:
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide comprehensive psychiatric care and medication management to patients within a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for mental health and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for substance abuse. The PMHNP will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions and substance use disorders. The role will include direct patient care, developing treatment plans, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments for patients in both the PHP and IOP programs.
- Diagnose mental health disorders and substance use disorders, prescribing medications and therapies as needed.
- Provide ongoing medication management and monitor patients' response to treatment.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, and other medical professionals to create individualized treatment plans.
- Educate patients and their families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and medication usage.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review and discuss patient progress.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with regulatory and clinical guidelines.
- Provide crisis intervention as necessary and ensure the safety of patients in the program.
- Comply with state and federal regulations regarding mental health and substance abuse treatment.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in Tennessee.
- Board certification in psychiatric-mental health.
- DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
- Experience in treating mental health conditions and substance use disorders, preferably in PHP or IOP settings.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and addiction medicine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time position, with standard hours of operation for PHP and IOP facilities (e.g., 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday).
- Occasional on-call duties may be required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $116,692.00 - $127,424.00 per year
