What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Aide position at Sanctuary Health Network?
JOB DESCRIPTION
The essential functions of this position are:
- Wash, dry, fold or hang clothes, linens, curtains
- Pick up dirty items
- Sort items
- Deliver clothing to residents' rooms in a timely manner
- Record residents' name in their clothing
- Organize residents' closets
- Stock linen carts
- Communicate with nursing staff regarding missing articles and belongings
- Cleans and sanitizes laundry room and equipment.
- Report problems of unsafe or broken equipment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Knowledge of the safe use of chemicals
- Knowledge of Universal Precaustions
- Knowledge of biohazard communications
- Maintain work are to ensure sanitary and clean environment
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to stand for longs periods of time
- Must be able to bend, lift, reach, push/pull
- Must be able to speak, read and write the English language
- pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check
- Previous experience in Long Term Care
