What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Paraprofessional (BHPP) position at Sanctuary Recovery Centers?
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Paraprofessional ( BHPP ) to join our team at a residential treatment facility in Arizona. The BHPP will provide essential support to individuals recovering from mental health and substance use disorders. As part of the treatment team, you will assist with implementing treatment plans, monitoring client behavior, and supporting the overall therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist clients with daily living activities and ensure a safe, structured environment within the facility.
Monitor and document client behavior, including participation in treatment, activities, and adherence to house rules.
Support clients during individual therapy sessions, assisting licensed professionals in the delivery of care.
Conduct routine rounds to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
Assist in the implementation of treatment plans developed by clinical staff.
Monitor medication administration as directed (if certified to do so) and document according to facility policies.
Observe and report significant changes in client behavior or condition to clinical staff.
Maintain accurate documentation of all client interactions and progress in accordance with state regulations and facility protocols.
Support crisis intervention efforts as needed to de-escalate situations and ensure client safety.
Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients, fostering a positive and recovery-oriented environment.
Participate in staff meetings, training, and supervision sessions to continuously improve service delivery.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or GED required.
Previous experience in behavioral health, substance use, or residential treatment settings preferred.
Fingerprint Clearance Card
TB Test (Within the last year)
CPR / First Aid certification
CPI certification
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle stressful situations with a calm, professional demeanor
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation
Clean driving record
Physical Requirements :
Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 45 pounds occasionally.
