Sanctum Internal Medicine is a solo, insurance-based internal medicine practice providing high-quality, personalized care in a calm, professional environment. We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented medical biller and coder to join our team on-site, part-time.
Position Overview:
This role involves managing all aspects of insurance billing and coding, including claim submissions, payment posting, and patient statements. It’s a low-volume, flexible position ideal for someone who enjoys independent work and a supportive setting.
Qualifications:
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance-based billing
- Familiarity with internal medicine coding
- Proficiency in Tebra (EHR and billing platform)
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- Must be able to work on-site in Mesa, AZ
Responsibilities:
- Process medical billing claims and ensure timely submission to insurance companies.
- Follow up on denial
- Review and verify patient information and medical records for accuracy.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies and obtain necessary documentation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) guidelines and changes in medical billing regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their billing inquiries and payment options.
- Ensure compliance with all federal regulations related to medical billing practices.
- Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Post payments and reconcile patient accounts
- Generate and manage patient statements and billing inquiries
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and current billing standards
