Guest Experience Associate

We are entering our busy season and looking for a Guest Experience Associate to join our team at Sand Hills Resort!

This position is for part-time seasonal work. Applicants must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and holidays.

A successful candidate for our Guest Experiences Associate position will have the important task of being the first point of contact our guests have with the resort. This individual will provide exceptional service to our guests and help ensure their stay with us is an enjoyable experience from start to finish.

A strong focus on customer service and extraordinary attention to detail is a must. You must be organized, be able to prioritize tasks and be comfortable talking to people on the phone and in person.

Previous customer service experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who is friendly, customer service oriented, willing to work hard, learn new skills and wants to work in a fun atmosphere.

JOB DUTIES:

• Greet all guests in a friendly, courteous manner on the phone and in-person.
• Provide our guests with an exceptional experience so they will look forward to coming back again and again!
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Be proficient in basic computer use and operation.
• Demonstrate the ability to learn and become proficient with the resort’s reservation and point-of-sale systems, and other software applications specific to our business.
• Assist guests with reservations on the phone and in-person.
• Help guests as they check-in and check-out.
• Learn, effectively communicate, and help enforce resort rules and policies.
• Provide guests with accurate information about the resort’s amenities and other local attractions they might enjoy during their stay.
• Assist guests with store purchases, suggest possible purchases, and promote any specials.
• Demonstrate accurate cash handling skills for all in-store purchases.
• Learn to accurately process credit card sales.
• Maintain cleanliness in and around the store including dusting, sweeping, cleaning glass, emptying trash, cleaning restroom, etc.
• Restock shelving, displays, and coolers as needed keeping inventory rotated to minimize store outs.
• Promptly report any low inventory to the Store Manager.
• Perform campsite inspections and report any damage to the Store Manager or Camp Host.
• Monitor campsites for timely departures, and clean and prepare campsites for guest arrivals.
• Maintain cleanliness in and around the resort property including cleaning bathrooms, showers, and laundry room.
• Must always be safety and security conscious and report any accidents or incidents to the Store Manager or Camp Host immediately.
• Report to work on time, neatly groomed, and dressed appropriately for the workplace.
• Keep work area neat, clean, and organized.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, superb attention to details and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks to ensure our guest’s needs are met, while maintaining a smooth workflow.
• Be flexible in the type of work done and hours worked based on the needs of guests, other team members and the resort in general.
• Be a self-starter and willing to do things simply because they need to be done.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently, collaborate as a team and bring new ideas to the resort.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 16 years of age.
• Prior customer service experience preferred, but not required.
• Neat appearance, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to sit occasionally and stand or walk for long periods at a time; squat, bend, and twist; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear.
• Must be able to frequently lift or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
• Environmental conditions include exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, sand, allergens, and fumes or odors from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
• Weekend and holiday availability is required.

ABOUT SAND HILLS RESORT:

Sand Hills Resort is located 13 miles north of downtown Rexburg, Idaho with direct access to the St. Anthony sand dunes. We have 109 campsites with accommodation for guests with tents or small campers, and large motorhomes with trailers. Most campsites offer water, electric and sewer hook ups. Many sites also have concrete pads, fire rings and picnic tables.

Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
