In your day to day activities, you’ll work with multiple customers, as a consultant and trusted partner in Sandalwood’s areas of expertise of Injury Prevention, Systems Engineering & Systems Integration. The Virtual Engineer will join a growing team of Engineering professionals helping our customers reduce their work-related risks to quality, productivity and employee health.
Successful candidates will have the following attributes:
- Ability to establish priorities, work both independently and with a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Demonstrates a qualified and professional appearance, and provides a competent representation of Sandalwood to the customer.
- Experience with MODAPTS, automotive products, production processes and protocols, knowledge of Industrial Engineering principles (time standards, optimization, etc.) , and Siemens PLM products such as Teamcenter, Process Simulate, and/or Jack.
- Ability to use Process Simulate to create a virtual simulation of an Automotive assembly line, as well as read and understand manufacturing process sheets.
- Knowledge of the product development process and experience with CAD modeling, and simulation tools.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently with direction, as well as in a team, proceed with objectives, meet deadlines and be able to follow instructions.
- Experience with Virtual Reality or Motion Capture
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and take on new challenges with enthusiasm.
Responsibilities:
- Create workstation simulations using Siemens PLM Process Simulate software
- Identify and help lead to resolution, any issues critical to quality, process workstation design, labor standards or ergonomics.
- Create simulations for flexible components such as wire harnesses, high-voltage cables, brake lines, and other highly flexible components in the IPS simulation software
- Lead customer training activities for the IPS simulation software
- Participate in and support team activities on projects, working collaboratively with technical specialists
- B.S. or higher in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 1-3 years or more of industry experience
- Ability to transition to different locations to support project work
