Sandbags, LLC is looking to hire a Supervisor for our Southwest Operations location in Odessa, TX. We are a national supplier of sandbags and other aggregate products for the construction industry, pipeline development, and disaster response. We stockpile pre-filled sandbags at strategic locations around the country with our main warehouse located in Odessa, TX. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work closely with the Northeast office located in Portersville, PA as well as our corporate office based in Las Vegas, NV.
The Supervisor is an integral member of the production team at Sandbags, LLC. While you will primarily serve as a Supervisor on-site on the production line, your responsibilities will expand into administrative tasks. This position reports directly to the Production Manager in Portersville, PA.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead by example by showing up on time, in good mind and body, and follow all procedures, responsibilities, and safety policies
- Responsible for implementing and using Company Timeclock app, Chronotek, to keep track of own hours
- Responsible for implementing and using Company Timeclock app, Chronotek, for day laborers
- Secure al paperwork for new laborers and scan copies / forward originals to Corporate office
- Serve as the Supervisor to our day laborers at our production locations, reach daily production goals and act as liaison between the production team and the Production Manager
- Communicating with Production Manager in a timely manner via calls or Teams app, as needed during the work day
- Supervise the production line, manage workflow and promote productivity and safety to all day laborers, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards
- Supervise and conduct site maintenance and upkeep, promoting general cleanliness at on-site production locations
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with all company equipment on-site and in transit
- Train day laborers
- Operate all company equipment on-site and in transit. This includes, but is not limited to: Passenger vehicles, personal company vehicles, and any/all production equipment.
- Conduct inspections and regular maintenance of all equipment
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and issue safety warnings on any infractions to any employee / day laborer under their direct supervision
- Be responsible for company funds to pay day laborers at the end of each day, to purchase fuel and necessary maintenance items with ability to organize receipts and labor / time sheets
- Ability to keep accurate inventory of finished product at end of each day
- Responsible for forecasting material orders
- Complete and submit administrative paperwork timely and accurately including Labor Sheets, Daily Production Reports, Safety Meeting and Incident Reports, Inspection and Maintenance Logs, Fuel Receipts, Sand Delivery Receipts, Etc.
- Ability to carry out any other tasks as directed by the Production Manager
Requirements:
- Must live withing reasonable commuting range
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, push, pull and lift bags weighing up to 50lbs repetitively
- Certified and skilled in operating front loader / backhoe / forklift
- 1-3 years supervisory experience
- Valid Class C Driver’s License and good driving record
- Willingness to travel
- Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED. Trade school / college preferred
- Ability to pass a drug screen
- Reference and background check required for employment
Other Qualifications a Plus:
- Associate’s degree or 2 years post-secondary education
- Excellent computer skills including Outlook, Excel, Adobe, Scanning phone apps
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- OSHA Certification
