IPS - IRP Medical is seeking an experienced Injection Molding Maintenance Technician.
The role is responsible for maintaining the injection molding machines and support equipment used in the manufacturing process. This includes performing preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment, as well as implementing engineering solutions to enhance product quality, improve uptime, and minimize failures. The position also requires documentation of repairs, maintenance of test equipment, and fostering communication with other shifts to ensure efficient execution of production schedules.

Job Accountabilities:
- Apply preventative and predictive maintenance techniques to manufacturing equipment, identifying, and correcting potential failures to minimize production downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures using best practices and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain and test equipment to ensure that production schedules are met without disruptions.
- Research and integrate new technologies for improving maintenance techniques.
- Assess and identify problems with minimal guidance and supervision.
- Communicate effectively with production Leads and Technicians, along with adjacent teams at shift change to ensure continuity of service and production.
- Document all repairs and maintenance activities daily, analyzing the data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Report problems to management in a timely manner and suggest possible solutions to prevent recurring issues.
Job Specifications:
Education / Experience: Associate degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience (minimum 3 years in maintenance or related work in injection molding). Working knowledge of mechanical and electromechanical components and equipment
Language Skills: Ability to read and understand technical manuals, business correspondence, and report writing. Must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, management, and external contacts. Spanish (preferred but not required)
Mathematical Skills: Competence in calculating figures such as percentages, measurements and applying basic algebraic concepts.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to identify problems, analyze potential solutions, and determine effective courses of action in varying situations. Must be able to interpret instructions in various formats (written, oral, or diagrammatic).
Skills:
- Strong understanding in repair of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, replaces, and maintains existing mechanical systems and associated equipment, including air compressors, air dryers, dehumidifiers, cooling towers, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Assess and identify problems with minimal guidance and supervision.
- Use all standard tools of the trade and follow code and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to effectively comply with all SOP’s and GMP’s.
- Practice and follow safety requirements that are OSHA-approved.
- Familiar with reading and interpreting documents, schematics, and blueprints
- Able to recognize and solve typical problems from established operating procedures and/or scientific methods.
- Experience in operating forklifts and other powered equipment
- Ability to work within a team environment and able to adapt to changes in work requirements.
- Maintains a safe and effective work area/environment and use appropriate personal protective and safety equipment
- Supports the Facilities Function as needed
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Desired Skills:
- Experience with ISO13485 preferred (but not required).
- Experience with Injection and Hydraulic molding. (Arburg and Engel Preferred)
- Experience with PLC’s. (not required)
- Experience in Robotic. (not required)
- Experience with chemicals and their OSHA and FDA regulations.
