IPS – IRP Med is seeking a Production Lead who is responsible for overall production and supervision of one area or department for one value stream at the IRP facility. This Lead position will work closely with the value stream manager, quality and engineering to ensure alignment to IRP directives and initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role that will directly contribute to the growth of our business through positive trending of customer related metrics. Critical metrics for this role are as follows: Safety, Quality, Productivity, On-Time-Delivery and Cost.
This position works in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment, utilizes knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to deliver world class results in efficiency, quality and productivity.

Job Accountabilities:

- Collaborates with other sub-departments to ensure a smooth transition of information
- Leads daily meetings to communicate assignments and expectations to team members.
- Assists technicians with company's ERP transaction system (EPICOR) to ensure accuracy of entries in a timely manner.
- Monitors quality and throughput of assigned Technicians
- Ensures daily communication with leads across other areas and shifts.
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert of their assigned areas.
- Provides leadership and mentorship to team members
- Performs basic troubleshooting of machines and escalates issues when other pertinent departments need involvement
- Sets team expectations and holds team members accountable for results
- Actively participates in LEAN initiatives by supporting activities dictated by program/process and functions as the SME of the areas
- Conducts review of Work Instructions, Forms, Logbooks, and other associated documentation daily
- Promotes efficiency, safety, creativity, cooperation, a positive work environment and teamwork among team members
- Contributes to employee performance evaluations by providing feedback on team performance
- Acts as the point of contact for the manufacturing team in the absence of leadership
- Document sign-off on all applicable operations within its area of responsibility
- Suggests process and manufacturing improvements to increase efficiency
- Understands and adheres to all environmental health and safety guidelines including all safety policies and posted signs.
- Signs production records, travelers and logs as work is completed.
- Maintains the order and cleanliness of production work areas, ensuring that all tools, materials and supplies are returned to their designated locations.
- Manage, develop and lead talent within the area of responsibility.
- Utilize continuous improvement (lean) across all areas to improve cost, quality and efficiency ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Provide a safe work environment through focus on 5S, risk reduction and data driven decision making.
- Responsible for reporting to Engineering when a red-lining is required in the routers to ensure accurate and appropriate steps are being taken within the manufacturing process
- Ensure department equipment is properly maintained and operating in a safe manner.

Job Specifications:
Education: Associates degree or higher preferred; High School education or GED required
Years Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a low volume/high mix manufacturing environment.
- 3 years working in Injection Molding, Compression of Rubber Silicone environment preferred
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and planning skills
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
- Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP
- Understanding of safety and EHS procedures
- Ability to stand long periods of time
Preferred Skills:
- Associate’s’ degree in Engineering or Business Administration
- Green Belt or Black Belt certified
Training Requirements:
- On the job training will be conducted on Procedures and Work Instructions in the area of responsibility.
