Job Description:
The Marina Supervisor at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort will play a key role in maintaining the marina's operational efficiency, ensuring guest satisfaction, and upholding safety standards. Key Responsibilities:
Marina Operations Support:
Assist in overseeing daily marina operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
Support dock attendants with docking, fueling, and vessel assistance.
Monitor and maintain marina cleanliness and organization.
Assist in managing the inventory of marine supplies and equipment.
Customer Service:
Provide outstanding customer service to all marina guests by addressing inquiries, reservations, and concerns promptly and professionally.
Foster a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for all guests and boat owners.
Assist guests with docking, fueling, and general boating needs.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce all safety regulations and ensure compliance with marina safety guidelines.
Monitor weather conditions and communicate safety protocols to guests and staff.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal marina regulations.
Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on docks, vessels, and marina equipment.
Identify and report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to management.
Assist in coordinating maintenance schedules with vendors and contractors.
Leadership and Training:
Lead by example, mentoring and training dock attendants on proper procedures and safety measures.
Assist in scheduling and delegating tasks among the dock staff.
Provide guidance and support to ensure high performance and operational excellence.
Environmental Stewardship:
Promote eco-friendly and sustainable practices within the marina.
Ensure proper waste disposal and spill prevention measures are in place.
Educate guests on responsible boating and environmental preservation.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Marine Management, Business, or Hospitality is a plus).
Prior experience in marina operations, dock work, or boating-related services.
Strong leadership skills and experience in a supervisory or mentorship role.
Knowledge of marine safety regulations, docking procedures, and equipment maintenance.
Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle emergency situations with professionalism and efficiency.
Boating and maritime certifications or licenses are preferred.
Familiarity with basic repairs and maintenance of docks and marina equipment.

Physical Requirements:
The Lead Dock Attendant position at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort requires the ability to perform various physical tasks, including but not limited to:
Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, including marine equipment and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
Standing and Walking: Prolonged periods of standing and walking on uneven surfaces, including docks and marina premises.
Manual Dexterity: Proficient use of hands and fingers for tasks such as handling ropes, tying knots, and operating equipment.
Boat Handling: Proficiency in boat handling, including the ability to board and disembark vessels and assist guests with docking.
Climbing: Climbing ladders and stairs to access boats, docks, and equipment.
Bending and Stooping: Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to access equipment and perform maintenance tasks.
Swimming: Strong swimming skills, as there may be a need to enter the water for various tasks or emergencies.
Sight and Hearing: Good visual and auditory acuity to monitor marina activities and ensure safety and compliance.
